Lower Hope Fruit
Clive and Sylvia Richards came to Lower Hope Estate in Herefordshire back in 1985, where they started growing raspberries in 1989 and cherries in 1994. Since the late 1980’s the overall fruit enterprise has increased to 55ha, which consists of 35ha of cherries and 9.5ha of raspberries. 100% of the cherry and raspberry crop is covered. Lower Hope prides itself on producing late season fruit. We have a cool climate, producing at the top of the hills in Herefordshire whilst having the benefit of frost free draining slopes, ideal for fruit growing. We have a purpose built packing facility with a MAF Roda Optical Grader which processes all of ours and other local growers cherries. The packhouse packs over 700 tonnes of growers stone and soft fruit per year.
